Thank you for stopping by my campaign website. We have very high hopes for 2010 as we race towards the Republican Primary just a few short days away. Please join us in what will be a dramatic change to Missouri's 3rd Congressional District. The first thing we would like you to do to help, is donate what you can to this campaign.
My Basic Beliefs
We are now just a few days away from the primary. Of course, it is imperative that I win the primary, if I am to do for you, the things that I have promised.
First, it is important to recognize that St. Louis and the surrounding area have been in a dramatic spiraling decline since 1949 and has brought us from the 8th largest city to the 52nd largest city in the nation over that time period. We were once a world class city, growing dramatically and expanding all of our highways, airports and other transportation to accommodate our dramatic growth and prosperity. It is all too clear now that we have become a third class city. Opportunities that once seemed unlimited have dried up and disappeared. We have lost Chrysler, Ford, Chevrolet, AT&T and the stability of Anheuser Bush and other great companies that have left us. With those companies have gone our prosperity, job and growth opportunities. With one party in control since 1949, it seems time to look at bringing someone to the office of Congress who not only understands this issue, but is prepared to correct this problem.
Imagine -- Real Leadership in the 3rd District.
Second, it should also be obvious by now that the country is headed in some directions that are not consistent with our historical positions that made us great. We have prospered as a nation because of our commitment to a Capitalist Economic System. We grew great because we lived lives that rewarded rugged individualism. Somehow, we are now moving towards Socialism and the concept of redistributing wealth. While it sounds interesting for everyone to be equally wealthy, the problem is that there is not enough wealth to make people equally wealthy. There is only enough wealth to make everyone equally poor as history proved in the Revolution of 1917 in Russia. The additional dilemma is that people just do not work without the incentive to get ahead. If people know that they will be paid regardless of their efforts, there is no reason to do anything extraordinary.
Third, we have lost our moral compass. There are many reasons for this, but the problem is significantly increased when our Congressmen and other government officials refuse to hold to a moral and ethical standard. In fact, it is interesting that the current administration is providing Ethics Waivers to many of the people that work for them. If our servants are able to exclude themselves from the moral and ethical standards held by the people, we have reached an unprecedented era of corruption.
Finally, the government has followed economic policies that are burying us in debt both to ourselves and to other countries. There are two huge problems with our economy. One is that we simply print money. There is no precious metal backing up our money. Since we went off the silver standard (our last metal standard during the Kennedy administration), we have increased the amount of money we print by significant amounts every year. The other problem is that we borrow money from other countries, such as Communist China. It does not take much to figure out all of the problems that we have created for ourselves by these moves.
Please let me suggest that, while there are undoubtedly many good people in government, the vast majority seem to be there for the purpose of gaining wealth, power, and career advancement. We have lost the original concept of government. Limited government where people that you know and trust, who live in your community offer themselves as servants of the people to help the people of their district express their beliefs to the government and who have the best interests of the country in mind. My recommendation here is that we stop electing the politicians and start to elect real people.
I would like to assure each of you that I am a disciplined and principled person. My entire life has been given in service as a minister and teacher. My only motivation for becoming a Congressman is to be a servant to the people and help restore America to it's moral compass and historically proven success methods. And I would like to make it very clear that my values are not for sale.
